Our church choir was founded in 1989 by Maren Hagemann. The first members were mainly students from a diverse range of denominations. Today we are a mixed choir with 40 members. Our repertory includes many of the well-known oratories, as well as numerous masses and cantatas. Since 2004 children´s choirs have joined us in family concerts where oratories have been staged, interspersed with scenic play. This happens in cooperation with the „Staatliche Jugendmusikschule Hamburg“. The concerts take place in the „Kreuzkirche Alt-Barmbek“. The choir’s performances in church services, choir meetings und many other events also include a-cappella pieces, ranging from classical music to pop. Through gatherings at weekends, various kinds of rehearsals and the creative activities of our members, the choir has grown into a community that is always open to fresh ideas. New members receive a warm welcome.
